Things I love like books and sugar, plus notes from my days as a Mary Poppins.
My favorite posts.
Oh, and: email, twitter, pinterest, and ask.
How often do you treat yourself to dessert?: I’m a baker. I eat dessert every day… sometimes more than once a day. I have a carton of peanut butter cups on my desk right now…that’s all I’m sayin’.
I brought these* in today to wish a co-worker farewell.
So far they’re an enormous hit. I’ve used this chocolate cake recipe at least six times and it is so simple a six-year-old could do it. (I know this because I’ve baked it with a six-year-old…she was a rock star.)
(My edits: I use dark cocoa powder as it’s a personal favorite and on this particular go, I swapped earth balance for butter because…well… it’s all I had.)

“I sleep in the middle of the bed. I think I might hog the pillows. I read a book in bed with a headlamp on my head. It’s dorky. Sometimes I fall asleep with the light on… mostly because I’m scared of murderers and not because I just happen to fall asleep with the light on.
I want pancakes for breakfast in the morning… every morning.”
Trust me, I didn’t think the idea could get any better and I promise you, it actually keeps grows more and more amazing the longer you think about it.
